Take Time To Harvest--Cover Voting!

4/30/2013

Sometimes cover designs flow easily and sometimes something keeps nudging me, but doesn't clarify itself.

Hence cover voting as a helpful tool!

If you have any comments for either cover, please do contact me.  One voter did for my last cover and it got me rethinking that design--so I'm still working on my "I'm Not What You Think" story cover.

Even if you don't have a comment, please click on the circle next to Cover 1 or Cover 2 and then click on the "vote" button to give me an idea of preferences.

Thank you!

Would You Like To Be Unflappable?

Who wouldn't love to feel "unflappable"?

Ragini Michaels has written the book, Unflappable, for those of us who find the same themes reappearing in our lives and want to make a change so that we can actually be happier more of the time.

In her book, Ragini introduces the concept of interdependent polar pairs (IPPs) such as love and hate, peace and war, acceptance and rejection, success and failure.

IPPs are intrinsic to dualistic reality (for those who are asking themselves if they live in this reality, if you are reading this Blog post you are living in this dualistic reality!).

Most of us don't like to be on the "negative end" of these IPPs and we make the mistake of thinking that we can control or
eradicate them. Yet, this is like eliminating many women's desire for chocolate--it's not going to happen!

Ragini offers us a way to retrain our conscious and subconscious
mind from pushing us into fight, flight, or freeze mode when we notice that we have entered the "negative zones."

And the good news is, it is the flow of energy between the IPPs that leads to expansion, renewal, and re-balancing. So as we become more aware of the good the "negative" brings and how to manage these times in our lives, the happier we will ultimately be.

To your unflappability!

Beautiful Whales

Don't you love the beauty of whales, dolphins, porpoises and other marine mammals?

If yes, please take a moment to honor these amazing creatures by helping to protect them from the horrible impacts of mid-frequency sonar.

According to the Natural Resources Defense Council in its Spring 2013 edition of Nature's Voice "the National Marine Fisheries Service is preparing to approve the Navy's five-year plan to use high explosives and deafening mid-frequency sonar in its training and testing exercises throughout enormous swaths of ocean off America's coasts."

This extreme noise has harmful and horrible effects to marine mammals, including hearing loss as well as hemorrhages in the lungs and other organs.

Pierce Brosnan narrates a short video of the impacts.

For writers looking for no cost and low cost ideas to market your books, check out Guerrilla Marketing For Writers.

And below are words from the  book (p. 242) which I find inspiring.
"You were born to make your life count by creating something for posterity as well as the present. So make transcendence your mission.  Creating something of enduring value to your community, the rest of the human family, and yourself is a goal worthy of your potential as a human being and worth making a total commitment to.  Authors do it day by day, word by word, book by book, and they do it for all of us."
What are you creating as your legacy?

An example of a little free library--photo from LFL website

Wow!  As soon as I learned about this I had to drop everything and write this blog sharing the news!

For all you library lovers, book lovers, and DVD lovers--here's your chance to increase the number of libraries across the planet!

I came across this idea on Tara Reed's blog, who learned it from Kelly Rae, who learned about it from someone else.  Don't you just love the Internet?!

So here's to increasing the square footage for sharing knowledge, fun, abundance, and all good things!

Check out the Little Free Library page to see lots of photos of people's creations and a map of these little libraries across the nation.

Instructions for those interested in building their own click here.

For those of you that don't feel particularly handy, you can order one pre-made from the Little Free Library website.

And if you do decide to move forward with this idea, please share a photo!
