Newport Way Library is celebrating Earth Day with their annual community poetry display.
This year, submitted haikus will be shared online on their Facebook page. A selected few will be stenciled on library sidewalks with invisible “Rainworks” paint. When it rains, these haikus will pop-up to delight library visitors!
How fun is that!
Submissions are due by Sunday, April 15, 2020. Learn more here.
Below are my three haiku submissions.
I think my "Splish-Splash Blast" would be particularly good for a rainy-day sidewalk poetry pop-up!
Dear Earth, With Love
Earth, so beautiful!
Giving a home to many.
Let us love her well.
Splish-Splash Blast
Puddle jumping fun!
Let’s hold hands until we’re done!
Splish-splash rain, splish-splash!
Happy to be Me!
Flowers bloom, trees shade
Warm days to be out to play
Happy to be me!
Now, it's your turn to join the fun of writing Earth Day inspired haikus!
